Former Research Associate and 2016 PhD Daniel Kopp is the 1st CEO/CTO of Queens Carbon

Former Research Associate and 2016 PhD Daniel Kopp is the 1st CEO/CTO of Queens Carbon, a company devoted to carbon-capture, usage and storage (CCUS) & Carbon Neutral Cement.  In addition he has been selected as a Breakthrough Energy Fellow, in the second cohort of Fellows, which is part of the BE network founded by Bill Gates.

The Breakthrough Energy Fellows program provides innovators and business experts from around the world with support to advance the groundbreaking technologies needed to reach net-zero emissions by 2050.  The program’s second cohort is focused in the areas of hydrogen, carbon capture, agriculture, cement, electrofuels, and long duration storage.  As a BE Innovator Fellow, the funding and mentorship provided by the program will help Dan Kopp and his team at Queens Carbon to continue their work to bring low-cost CO2 capture solutions and carbon-neutral cement production to market.
