Graduate Students Association

General Information about MSE Graduate Students Association

The purpose of this association is to enrich the social, cultural, and academic lives of all the graduate students in our Department.

The MSEGSA has a long tradition in our department. Many activities are organized to serve the students. For example, at the beginning of the fall semester, we hold an “Orientation BBQ” to welcome new graduate students. The “Pot Luck” luncheon is a time to experience the diverse cultures in the department with food. Other activities include the “Student Seminar” which gives students a chance to discuss about their research as well as to practice their presentation skills and a relaxing “movie night.” General meetings are held to listen to students’ opinions about the association and to solicit any suggestions or concerns of departmental events. Other activities such as the “Holiday Lunch” before Christmas are designed to give students more fun after all their hard work during the semester. In addition, we are developing our own website for the MSEGSA.
